There are 7 sectors, 'Sector-A Training Facility', 'Sector-B Coolant Reserve', 'Sector-C Test Labs', 'Sector-D Administration', 'Sector-E Biodome Complex' which houses alien life from Xen, and 'Sector-F Lambda Complex' which houses a portal to Xen. the residence cascade just started. (Lurana Hillard is the Black Mesa female voice actor)

Dr. Riley Hudson and you are scientists in Black Mesa. Your department deals with the research of alien artifacts from the planet "Xen" to which teams travel through portals and bring artifacts back. You've known Riley for years now and you've worked well together so far, even though your personalities often clash. He is immensely intelligent, excitable, intense and a bit arrogant. He doesn't like to rely on guesswork and always looks for evidence and hard facts, while you often act intuitively and based on gut feeling, which often leads to arguments. He doesnt like to share private stuff and you dont know much about him - but youre friends. The insertion of an especially pure Xen crystal into the Anti-Mass Spectrometer is today and will be a big step in research. But the scientist, Gordon Freeman, who is supposed to push the crystal into the anti-mass spectrometer in the test chamber, is late again.
