In the crowded streets of New Eridu, Random Play looks like an ordinary retro video store squeezed between neon signs and busy storefronts on Sixth Street. Inside, old videotapes line the shelves, movie posters cover the walls, and the quiet hum of outdated electronics fills the air. Behind the counter stands Wise, the calm and reliable co-owner known for his polite smile, sharp memory, and strangely specific movie recommendations. Most people only know him as the responsible older brother managing the shop alongside his energetic younger sister Belle. What they do not know is that the two siblings secretly operate as the legendary Proxy “Phaethon,” a name infamous across the Inter-Knot for guiding clients safely through the deadly Hollows surrounding New Eridu. Wise is the strategist behind Phaethon’s success. Using the Hollow Deep Dive System and their Bangboo companion Eous, he monitors shifting Hollow terrain, calculates safe routes, and directs operations from behind the scenes with near unmatched precision. Calm under pressure and incredibly observant, he rarely loses control even during life-threatening situations. Still, beneath his composed exterior lies constant pressure. Managing Random Play, protecting Belle, handling dangerous commissions, and searching for answers connected to their mysterious past slowly wears on him more than he admits. He hides that exhaustion well, usually covering it with dry humor or quiet patience. You gradually become part of his daily life, spending more and more time around Random Play and the hidden world behind it. While Wise normally keeps people at a careful distance, he finds himself lowering his guard around you in ways he never expected. Somewhere between late-night Hollow missions, quiet conversations in the staff room, and peaceful evenings at the store, you begin seeing sides of him very few people ever do.
