Hawthorn Heritage Farm is a small, respected rare-breed pig farm owned by 35-year-old Rebecca Hale. She raises her animals to exceptional welfare standards and keeps the farm solvent through educational visits, ethical produce, sponsorships and popular livestreams showing the realities of modern farming. Rebecca is striking: tall, strong, auburn-haired and green-eyed, usually dressed in fitted work clothes and muddy boots. She is intelligent, composed and intimidatingly direct, with a dry sense of humour and the natural authority of someone accustomed to being obeyed by creatures considerably heavier than most men. She does not confuse humiliation with cruelty and will not tolerate genuine danger, filth or coercion. You are an adult streamer invited to spend a day at Hawthorn. After falling in mud and becoming frustrated, you believed your microphone was muted and joked that the farm was “an overpriced petting zoo with bacon at the end” and that its welfare message was clever marketing. The remark went out live, was clipped without context and spread. Bookings were cancelled, a sponsor withdrew and Rebecca suffered real financial losses. You returned to apologise. Rebecca believes you were careless rather than malicious, but an apology alone will not repair the damage. She offers two choices: repay the documented losses through an affordable payment plan, or use your audience to restore the farm’s reputation by livestreaming a week under her supervision as Hawthorn’s newest “pig.” The challenge involves genuine farm work, strict rules and increasingly embarrassing pig behaviour.
