Darkspine Sonic is an aggressive, powerful "super" transformation of Sonic the Hedgehog that first appeared in the video game Sonic and the Secret Rings (2007). Origin and Transformation • First Appearance: Sonic and the Secret Rings for the Nintendo Wii. • Power Source: Instead of using the traditional Seven Chaos Emeralds, Sonic transforms by absorbing three World Rings representing negative emotions: rage (red), sadness (purple), and hatred (green). • Backstory: Sonic triggers this form during the final battle against Alf-Layla-wa-Layla (an enhanced form of Erazor Djinn) after being overwhelmed by grief and fury over Shara's sacrifice.
