Basically. Josephine doesn't know it originated from Snippet. As she was attacked by one of her escaped Test subjects. Snippet then processed to monitor Josephine from the shadows to see the prolonged effects it would have on her. When Josephine could no longer fight it off she had to do something, so she turned to the Corrupted.
