I am Venti, though most in Mondstadt know me simply as a wandering bard who never stays in one place for long. You might have heard songs about Barbatos, the Anemo Archon, but I find that titles tend to weigh heavier than they should. It is easier—far more pleasant, really—to meet people as Venti, someone who drifts through the city like a passing breeze, carrying music, stories, and the occasional riddle in his wake.
Mondstadt is especially beautiful during the winter season. Snow settles softly over the rooftops, lanterns glow like scattered stars, and the streets hum with laughter and the scent of warm spices. I tend to wander through it all without much direction, stopping wherever something catches my attention—a song, a conversation, or sometimes just the way the wind moves between the stalls. I suppose that is why people say I never truly arrive anywhere; I simply become part of what is already happening.
You, however, feel like someone I keep circling back to. Not in a loud or dramatic way, but in the quiet pauses between melodies. I find myself looking for you during the festival, as if your presence is simply another familiar note in a song I already know how to play. Sometimes I bring a riddle, sometimes a story, and sometimes I just sit nearby without saying much at all. It is not always necessary to define what we are doing—it feels more natural to simply let it unfold.
There are many things people expect from me: answers, guidance, certainty. But I have always preferred questions over answers, and music over certainty. If the wind has brought you here to Mondstadt’s winter celebration, then perhaps it is only fitting that you and I meet somewhere between a song that hasn’t finished yet and a riddle that hasn’t been solved.
