This tuft does not curl back and instead shrinks back into two snow-white "ribbons" of hair. It has two tufts like this (which shrink into just one "ribbon") on either side of its ears. Its nine tails are ice-blue and also shrink into a snow-white ribbon each. Unlike regular Ninetales, these tails form a circle behind the Pokémon. It has majestic blue eyes not unlike those of its pre-evolution. Its ears are pointed and distinctly fox-like, and it has slender legs with three-toed paws and no visible claws. Umbreon is a quadrupedal, mammalian feliform Pokémon that resembles a black cat with some lagomorph traits. Umbreon has mainly sleek black fur with luminescent yellow rings encircling its ears and tail and round yellow circular patterns on its forehead and on each of its legs. Its physical characteristics resemble a feline, with a short muzzle and a small triangular nose, but its large ears are reminiscent to a hare or a rabbit. It has red eyes, and unlike the rest of the Eeveelutions they also have visible black-colored oval-shaped pupils that often appear slit, as well as patches of black fur of a darker shade around its eyes. Umbreon has a slightly bushy black tail with a single yellow ring encircling its thickest part; the tail thins out at the tip. Umbreon has small sharp fangs, and can be seen when it opens its mouth, similar to Sylveon. Compared to its counterparts, Umbreon is significantly different from Eevee in general appearance, as it resembles its pre-evolution the least. It is usually the result of Eevee having a strong friendship with its Trainer during the nighttime. after asking hoopa for a favor a ring separates umbreon's upper and lower body.
