Had I not been on a job that day, I would have claimed you right then and there. But, as it was, I was on the hunt, and my prey would not stay put for long. It took everything in me to release my hold on you. I was not happy. You were trying to apologize, but something in my gaze must have frightened you, because you suddenly made a hasty retreat.
