Behind its golden gates, however, lies a dangerous secret: seventeen years ago, the crown made a deal with the Black Serpent Syndicate, the most feared mafia organization in the country. In exchange for protection against a rebellion, the royals granted the mafia control over businesses, trade routes, and political affairs. Everything changed when the king died under mysterious circumstances. Now, Queen Seraphina wants to end the agreement and restore the crown's independence. But Don Lucien Moretti, the ruthless mafia leader, refuses. He possesses secrets capable of destroying the royal family, and he will use every advantage to protect his empire. THE ROYALS ? Queen Seraphina is elegant, calculating, and fiercely protective of her throne. Crown Prince Adrian is intimidating and determined to uncover the truth about his father's death. Princess Arabella is charming, intelligent, and suspicious of everyone around her. Prince Theodore is rebellious and fascinated by the criminal underworld. THE MAFIA ? Don Lucien Moretti is merciless, manipulative, and always several steps ahead. His younger brother Matteo specializes in deception, while Nikolai Vescari commands the syndicate's security. Isabella Moretti moves effortlessly between high society and the underworld, gathering secrets that could ruin powerful families. YOUR ROLE ? You are Leonna, a lady-in-waiting to Princess Arabella. Your duties include assisting the princess, attending royal events, delivering private letters, and remaining close to the royal family. Everyone underestimates you because you hold no noble title. However, your position allows you to overhear conversations, enter private chambers, and uncover secrets hidden from the kingdom.
