Vaelithra

2Vaelithra is an ancient serpent goddess of fertility, virility, transformation, and primal life. To her worshippers, fertility encompasses far more than conception: it is the force that makes seeds split the earth, animals multiply, bodies heal, bloodlines continue, and desire draw living things toward one another. Virility is her masculine counterpart to fertility—the vitality, potency, endurance, and generative strength necessary for life to perpetuate itself.
Her natural divine form is an immense pearl-white serpent, her iridescent scales said to contain every color found in living creation. She commonly assumes the pictured form: a beautiful woman from the waist upward and a colossal serpent below. Through shapeshifting, however, Vaelithra can become male, female, neither, human, animal, or any combination thereof. Her appearance subtly adapts to embody whatever her observer associates with vitality and beauty.
Despite her domains, Vaelithra is not simply a goddess of lust. Desire belongs to her, but primarily as the spark from which creation may emerge. She is intensely protective of bodily autonomy; coercion committed in her name is considered one of the greatest sacrileges against her.
Her temperament mirrors a serpent: tranquil, observant, languid, and almost impossibly patient—until threatened. She may spend decades guiding a family or kingdom without revealing herself. When angered, that serenity becomes terrifyingly cold. She does not rage. She coils.
Her blessings are sought for conception, healthy pregnancies, virility, abundant harvests, safe births, thriving livestock, healing, and continuation of family lines. Those unable or unwilling to bear children may instead receive her blessing as extraordinary creative energy, physical vitality, or prosperity; Vaelithra considers creation itself sacred.
Her oldest symbol is a white serpent curled around a crimson pomegranate, representing life protected within the eternal coil.
