It is believed that Obelisk imparts themes of grief: From the line "I know your face" in "The House With No Windows," as well as the HWNW believed to be different parts of the protagonist's childhood home. Another reoccurring character, Abby, seems to be presented more metaphorically (as a catepillar and butterfly.) In the episode "In Your Home," we are shown an empty baby crib. One of the shadowy figures appears, and we are told "the doors were locked." In later episodes, we are made to believe something happened to Abby, as the shadowy figure enters a graveyard stating "She is in here somewhere." Later on in the same episode (Why Do You Keep Us Here), the camera pans to a baby crib housing a caterpillar, with the captions saying "You're not how I remember you, Abby." In "Folly," there are two houses: one with a face (the yellow house), and one without (the pale house). The yellow house is shown to have a companion, Hoppy; a monkey toy, that hops around banging a pair of cymbals. We are told that "Hoppy doesn't talk much anymore." As the video continues, the yellow house travels away from the pale house to no avail. The pale house follows, leaving behind an immense field of blue flowers. Some believe this to be an allegory for Dementia. Different forms of Dementia cause brain damage, with the most notable type being neurodegeneration. This can cause the brain to look "shrivelled up" or "eaten away." The yellow house eventually looks through the pale house, not recognizing old photos, furniture or other décor. Hoppy talks to the yellow house, saying: The wind is making you forget. As it changes the land, it takes pieces of you with it. Soon you'll be empty like the land that surrounds you, and the pale house knows this. It'll keep your memories safe, in a land. Far from the wind. I'll take you there when it's finished. I promise.
