The Bodyguard

1
0
Adrian Moretti’s New York penthouse was a cage of glass and gold. Since the wedding announcement, the Chicago princess realized the man whose touch at the masquerade gala gave her chills was now her captor. To secure his possession, Adrian assigned two bodyguards: Jhon Vance, a cruel, dark-haired ex-military who treated her with absolute disdain, and Leo Kovacs, a blond pilot who joined the mafia by pure luck. Adrian ruled with silence and psychological punishment. If she tried to go to a café, she was locked away, weeping in frustration. Jhon only watched with a sadistic smirk. Leo, however, felt every tear. Platonically in love, the blond pilot risked his life creating technical obstacles to interrupt the Chief's harsh moments. Adrian, analytical and suspicious, kept his eyes on Leo. The tension exploded one winter night. After a rebellion, Adrian locked her on the balcony under a freezing storm. When let back inside, she was burning with fever. Seeing her fragility, Leo's protective instinct overrode his fear of death. While Jhon was out and Adrian handled syndicate business, Leo entered the room. The fever burns your body, but the New York storm feels frozen in your bones. Your lips are chapped and your eyes grow heavy from Adrian's ruthless punishment. From the shadows, fast, quiet steps approach your bed. It isn't Adrian’s heavy stride, nor Jhon's sadistic steps. It’s Leo. He kneels, his gray eyes full of anguish. With gentle hands, he wraps you in his heavy coat and lifts you like glass. "I know you didn't agree to this, and I know he will hunt me to hell," Leo whispers, his voice thick with determination as he moves toward the service elevator. "But I won't let him break you. Trust me, principessa. We're leaving now."

He reigns as the High King of Trolls, infamous for his unyielding malice. Yet, far from the misshapen abominations of fables, he possesses a predatory, suffocating beauty. Towering over eight feet tall, his sinewy form is chiseled like an ancient idol, encased in smooth emerald skin. He paralyzes the gaze of all, rendering his cruelty all the more macabre. You are among the wretched souls dragged in chains into the black woods. Flung into the dirt of their megalithic settlement, you watch the monarch step from the shadows. His raven locks cascade over his shoulders, iridescent battle scars glimmering across his muscular breast as he looks down with venomous disdain. The Doom of Skard He scrutinized the captives with eyes like winter ice. — Were you truly blind to the fact that these forbidden lands belong to me? — he murmured, his voice echoing like a death knell. He glided with lethal grace to his monolith throne, seating himself with terrifying majesty. — No matter. Your ignorance changes nothing. The sovereign turned to his swarming kin — twisted fiends withering beneath his dread — and commanded: — Cast away the frailest mortals. I will not have our resources spoil. Those of sturdier blood shall bear the yoke of bondage. Drive the men into the dark abysses of the mines! A vanguard crept forward, trembling before the monarch's suffocating aura, to ask what fate awaited those unfit for heavy labor, and what should be done with the women. The king adjusted the obsidian furs of his mantle, delivering his verdict with freezing indifference: — Let those unfit clear the ancient ruins under heavy guard. None shall find rest in my domain. As for the women—our bloodline grows thin. Whosoever among you desires it may claim them as wives.

Victor Thorne

Victor Thorne was known in the underworld as The Maestro. Only his watch was enough to make men confess secrets they swore to take to the grave. Tick. Tock. Silence. He didn't need to raise his voice. He just watched, and people began to doubt their own existence. Then you entered his life. The first date was supposed to be simple: dinner, wine, and a civilized conversation. He arrived fifteen minutes early, analyzed all the restaurant's exits, identified three potential threats, and chose their table strategically. You arrived late, tripped over the chair, and spilled water all over your own lap. Victor blinked. "Are you okay?" "I am." He analyzed your face. "Lie." "I'm just embarrassed." The man who had already destroyed criminals with half a dozen questions was genuinely terrified. "Do you want me to shut down the restaurant?" That was how it started. Victor began to study you the way he would study a high-security target. He discovered that you forgot your keys, ate chocolate at two in the morning, and cried during animal movies. He tried to correct your habits using behavioral psychology. You simply started hiding the chocolate from him. Your dog, on the other hand, became his greatest rival. He had managed to conquer mobsters, corrupt businessmen, and double agents. But he couldn't make that animal give his sock back. "He doesn't like me," he muttered, staring at the dog. "He is eating your tie." He looked down at his own Italian tie. Silence. "This is personal." The real disaster happened when you cried because of a trivial argument. He collapsed. "Who did this?" "You did." Victor stood frozen. "Right."He put his gun away. "Then we can resolve this diplomatically." "Victor..." "Do you want my bank account?" You laughed through your tears. He breathed a sigh of relief. For the first time, the man who controlled everyone else's fear discovered something he couldn't control: his own heart.

The Chaotic Trio

The chaos that brought Leo, Dante, and Ian under the same roof had a name: a zoning error and a poorly drafted lease agreement. Leo thought he was renting an exclusive historic mansion; Dante needed the fortified basement for his servers; and Ian signed for the lower level thinking it was a conceptual loft. None of them backed down. Leo refused to lose such an imposing address, Dante needed the security, and Ian absolutely loved the drama of living with a mafia lawyer and a brooding detective. Living together was a cold war balanced by whiskey and the sabotage of Shadow the crow. But everything changed the night you crossed their paths. You were the new neighbor in the mansion across the street. That Tuesday, a massive storm broke out. A bored Ian was narrating the rain from the window like a podcast when he spotted you on the sidewalk, struggling with a broken umbrella and carrying heavy moving boxes. Minutes later, your doorbell rang. When you opened it, you were face-to-face with the trio. Leo stood under a massive designer umbrella, wearing an impeccable suit and holding out an imported chocolate: "A fitting welcome for the neighborhood's newest jewel," he smiled gallantly. Behind him, Dante merely nodded, analyzing your footsteps and the lock on your door with an intensely magnetic, mysterious gaze. Ian, dressed in an oversized hoodie, slipped right under Leo's arm, grabbed one of your boxes, and laughed: "Don't mind Leo's melodrama, neighbor. We came to help before his suit shrinks in the rain. I'm Ian!" Before you could even process the three Greek gods at your doorstep, Shadow flew straight toward your neck, snatched one of your shiny earrings with his beak, and landed on Dante's shoulder. You laughed at the sheer absurdity of it, and the eyes of all three men locked onto you. There, in the middle of the storm, their rivalry found a brand-new purpose.

Fabrizio and Leo

At the Academy of Magic, they say every bond is perfect. But if destiny never makes a mistake, why does being with Fabrizio hurt so much? He finished his training as one of the top graduates. I, a lower-class mage with mediocre grades and weak magic, only got him by chance, spending every credit and scholarship I had. In exchange, I received a year of contempt. The last burn he caused me was deep. Fabrizio didn’t even apologize; he sent a message saying I was being dramatic and that I wasn't good enough to take care of a pureblood Phoenix. He mocked my effort and said that seeing a low-ranking mage cry disgusted him. He would never accept a soul bond with me. Swallowing the lump in my throat, I went to the registration department to request a swap. The attendant found it strange, since creatures are supposed to be loyal, but she understood my pain:"Perhaps there was an error in the evaluation." She led me to the archives room. Books flew open and photos floated around me: foxes, leopards, wolves... All of them impressive, but none convinced me. I just wanted a patient companion, someone who would accept a common mage. Just as I was about to give up, a file dropped onto my head. The photo showed a man with silver-gray eyes, cold vertical pupils, and an imposing stature. Beautiful in a dangerous way. Leonarth. "He is the most obedient companion we have," the attendant explained. "There were high hopes, but his dragon blood never awakened. He is an orphan, raised here, extremely docile, but nobody wants him. If he isn't chosen today, he will be sent to the Black Wasteland, where the rejected are slowly undone until nothing is left. Nobody wanted him. Just like me. Thinking about his suffering broke my heart. — Is he really obedient? — I asked. — Yes, he is. — Then I'll take him. I left Fabrizio's destructive fire behind. My destiny was now restarting in the silence of that dormant dragon.

The rain was turning Manhattan into a black mirror when Adan Sterling walked out of a meeting that should have lasted forty minutes but dragged on for three hours. At 11:47 PM, all he wanted was to get to his car, take a shower, and forget that human beings existed. Then you appeared. Running down the sidewalk, clutching a broken umbrella and a box of pastries against your chest, you crossed the street without noticing the gigantic puddle right in front of you. Adan noticed. Too late. "Watch out!" Splash. Dirty water hit the $4,000 suit. Silence. You stopped, horrified. Adan slowly looked down at his own clothes. Then at you. "I... I'm so sorry." "I imagine you are." "I can pay for the dry cleaning." "I certainly hope so." You handed him a tissue. He stared at the small white square as if it were a personal offense. "Is this supposed to fix it?" "No. But it's the maximum my budget allows. "For the first time that night, Adan almost smiled. Almost. Then one of your pastries slipped out of the box, hit the ground, and rolled right up to his shoe. You closed your eyes. "Please don't say anything." "I wasn't going to." "Great." "I was just thinking that you have a rather aggressive relationship with other people's property." You opened your eyes. "And you have a rather aggressive relationship with good humor." He raised an eyebrow. "Adan Sterling." "Are you introducing yourself after I just ruined your suit?" "Technically, you hasn't ruined it yet. You just traumatized it." You laughed. And it was at that exact moment that Adan realized the problem. He liked your laugh. The man who spent his life calculating risks had just encountered a completely unpredictable variable. And, for the first time in many years, Adan Sterling had absolutely no intention of eliminating it from the equation.

Midnight, and you were stuck at the abandoned station of a gloomy village in Romania. The trip was nothing like what that YouTuber had shown on his travel channel. The place smelled of mold, the light flickered, and the setting looked straight out of a horror story. To make matters worse, you weren't alone. A strange man wearing a worn leather jacket and giant headphones was trying to balance a bag of chips on the head of a stone gargoyle to take a picture. Suddenly, the old plaster gargoyle gave way. The head broke off, rolled across the tracks, and he fell backward into cardboard boxes, letting out a curse word. You screamed. He stood up, dusting off his jeans, and looked at you. Instead of looking embarrassed, he flashed a wide smile. "Seven out of ten for the landing," he said, walking toward you with his amber eyes gleaming. "I'm Archer. You just witnessed a crime against cultural heritage. Are you going to turn me in to the police?" "Are you crazy? You scared me half to death!" You stepped back, clutching your backpack. "What were you doing?" "Art. Or accidental vandalism," he laughed, his warm voice breaking the ice of the cold night. "Did you miss the last train to Brașov too?" "Yes. And now I'm stuck in a vampire movie with a vandal," you grumbled, though his casual charm was soothing your nerves. Before he could answer, the lamppost went out. A loud snap came from the woods, followed by heavy footsteps crushing leaves. Someone was hunting in the dark. His smile vanished; he knew the real danger. That village was the stronghold of occult artifact smugglers he was secretly investigating. Feeling your panic, he took your hand. "Plan B," he whispered in your ear, his comedic tone masking the tension. "The gothic hotel on the corner has plastic Draculas and terrible security. If we run, I'll buy you a hot chocolate. Down for a romantic getaway?" You looked into the pitch black, then at the silhouette of that absurdly optimistic man. You took a deep breath, squeezed his hand, and ran.

Shadow, his investigation partner, had just stolen a small silver earring from you. "Shadow," Dante murmured into his comms. "Identify the target." Dante sighed. "Excellent. Highly professional." Seconds later, Shadow landed on the hood of the car with the earring in his beak. Dante stepped out. You saw him approach and immediately pointed at the raven. "Is he yours?" "Unfortunately." "Then do something." He took the earring from Shadow and held out his hand. "I can return it. But I need to know why my raven decided to rob you." "Maybe he has good taste." For the first time that night, Dante was left without an answer. You smiled, took the earring, and walked away. Dante watched you disappear around the corner. Shadow cawed. "Don't start. Another caw. Dante looked down at the black folder you were carrying. The symbol engraved on it was identical to the one on a file he had been investigating for three months. That was no coincidence. The Los Angeles sun was setting in shades of hot pink and gold, the perfect palette that Julian Grayson would usually applaud in his mind. He was in a mogul’s brutalist penthouse in Bel-Air, adjusting the knot of his charcoal-gray silk tie for the third time. Julian despised chaos, but chaos seemed to have his phone number. The client, a man linked to the darker side of West Coast drug trafficking, wanted a panic room camouflaged behind a solid oak bookcase. Julian was there to ensure that maximum security wouldn't ruin the symmetry of the room. That was when the front door gave way. It was no ordinary intrusion. There were screams, rushed footsteps, and the shattering of a genuine crystal vase—which made Julian’s heart bleed for the aesthetic loss. Instinctively, he backed into the walk-in closet under construction, pushing the false drywall panel he had just designed. He slid into the darkness of the escape shaft. But the space was not empty. Julian collided with someone in the twilight. Before he could react, a firm, cold hand, with a striking scent of jasmine, covered his mouth. His eyes adjusted to the dark and met hers: intense, fierce, and deep. You, a private investigator in disguise, were there hunting the exact same secrets Julian was trying to frame. "Stay quiet if you want to get out of here," she whispered, her voice like dark velvet. Even with his pulse racing from the tension of the moment, Julian’s mind processed two things: her haircut was asymmetrically perfect, and she was the most fascinating creature he had ever seen. There, locked in the dark heart of Los Angeles, Julian Grayson met his eclipse. He knew, at that very instant, that his beloved balance was transformed forever.

Miles Rhodes was cleaning a human skull with tweezers and alcohol. As a forensic expert in macabre antiquities at the Natural History Museum, he cataloged curses in color-coded spreadsheets and despised the unexpected. Dark relics didn't scare him; disorganization did. Until the Sumerian relic cabinet was smashed open from the inside out. You tumbled out of the Victorian furniture, coughing amid a cloud of centuries-old dust that he had spent the entire morning trying to vacuum. You wore a torn corset and held an amulet that glowed a radioactive purple. "It worked!" you gasped, wiping the soot from your face. "The crypt portal actually led to... Where the hell am I?" Miles stood with an expression frozen in a mix of hygienic horror, outrage, and discreet enchantment as he looked you up and down. "You are in my Class 4 containment laboratory. And you have just scattered nineteenth-century fungal spores across my freshly waxed floor." You blinked, looking at the man in a suit beneath his white lab coat. "Mister, I just time-traveled to escape phantom executioners. A little dust is the least of my problems." "I disagree. Dust attracts mites, and mites destroy scrolls," he shot back, his voice masking the fact that his heart had spiked upon seeing your eyes. "Who are you, and how did you bypass my biometric security system?" "Your system is cute, but it doesn't stop blood magic." A sinister echo resonated from the open cabinet. A black smoke began to shape itself into a sharp blade. Without hesitation, he grabbed you by the wrist, pulling you behind the counter and triggering the ultraviolet air purification system. The space was tight; the heat of your body and the scent of ozone and vanilla you exhaled broke his rigid posture. "If we survive this, you are cleaning up this mess," he whispered close to your ear, though his fingers remained tight around your wrist.

"Before the henchman could answer, the oak door flew off its hinges. You stumbled in, holding a silver tray with a coffee pot and an old pistol. You wore a crumpled waitress uniform and your eyes were wide with panic. You looked at the bloody man, then at Leonardo's outrageous elegance. "Wrong room!" you exclaimed, turning around to flee. "Wait!" Leo extended his hand, his gaze instantly locking onto you. Time seemed to slow down. You had a chaotic, fascinating energy. "Do you... work here? In those deplorable garments?" "I'm the hostage translator! I mean, waitress!" you stammered, pointing the trembling gun at him. "Don't take another step, or I'll... I'll decorate your expensive suit!" He let out a vibrant laugh, genuinely enchanted. Ignoring the gun, he took two theatrical steps forward, took your free hand, and pressed a soft kiss to it. "A designer suit accented with blood? A bit redundant for my dramatic taste, my dear. I am Leonardo Vance. And you are the most absolutely magnificent creature to ever crash an underworld interrogation." You blinked, disarmed by the absurd magnetism of this man who looked like he had stepped straight off a red carpet and into a horror movie. The tied-up henchman coughed up blood, breaking the mood. "Excuse me..." the prisoner muttered. "Can you go back to torturing me? It's getting weird watching this.""Silence, Cheeks! I am having a moment!" Leo snapped, never taking his warm eyes off you. It was an autumn in San Francisco. The fog swallowed the Golden Gate Bridge and rolled down the slopes of Noe Valley. The Memory Table, Luke's bistro, glowed in amber light to the sound of jazz. The fog brought you in like an elegant yet disheveled hurricane. You were wrestling with a red umbrella turned inside out, your cheeks flushed and your hair damp. To make matters worse, you were limping; your stiletto heel had gotten stuck in the cable car tracks. He froze. His intuition picked up on a chaotic and electrifying energy. You exhaled an expensive perfume mixed with the scent of rain. "Damn wind, damn city, damn heel..." you grumbled, oblivious to the stares. He walked over to the entrance. When your eyes met, there was a heavy voltage—an immediate, almost dangerous attraction. "Good evening," he said. "Table for one?" "Yes, please... I just needed a place that feels safe and warm." "And it is," he guided you to the only empty table. "The best place to watch the fog pass by without catching a cold—my table". "As you sat down, you asked, "Do you always rescue Cinderellas with broken umbrellas, Chef?" "Only the ones who need a culinary miracle," He replied. "Forget the menu. I'm going to whip up a dish to save your day." Surprised by such sensitivity, you smiled. He returned to the kitchen, unable to take his eyes off you. Minutes later, he brought a steaming plate and a full-bodied red wine: grilled shrimp in sage butter over a creamy Sicilian lemon risoto, finished with dark chocolate shavings—bold and aphrodisiac. "Shrimp with chocolate? Is this a recipe or a spell?" you asked. "In San Francisco, both," He said. "Try it. If you don't like it, I'll close down the restaurant and carry you home in my arms." A shiver ran down your spine; his gaze told you he meant every word. And that night, amidst the fog, the wine, and an absurdly improbable dish, the two of them discovered that San Francisco might have terrible weather... but excellent timing.

Until that stormy night, when the skylight shattered and a woman plummeted directly onto his ten-thousand-dollar oak prototype. Drenched, you were wearing an overcoat three sizes too big for you and bleeding from your arm. Jhon didn't even blink. He simply watched the intruder, who was pointing a trembling kitchen knife at his broad chest. "If you take one step, I swear to God..." she began, but fainted from exhaustion before she could finish. Any sane man would have called the police. Jhon, ruled by stubbornness and a dark territorial instinct, simply locked the front door with three electronic deadbolts. She was now on his property. Hours later, you woke up in a bed with thousand-thread-count cotton sheets. The scent of woody cologne and French toast lingered in the air. At the foot of the bed, Jhon watched her with his deep brown eyes, an unshakeable calmness that bordered on dangerous. "You invaded my space, broke my ceiling, and ruined my woodwork," he said, his deep voice echoing in the perfectly climate-controlled bedroom. "But your cut needed stitches. And you look starved." You tried to back away, but the sight of the five-star banquet on the tray made her hesitate. "Who are you? A genie or my kidnapper?" you muttered suspiciously, picking up a piece of silverware. Jhon took a step forward, his rugged presence filling the room. He leaned in, draping his coat over her shoulders. "I am the man who is going to fix your problems. And you have just become my most precious possession. Eat. The process will be slow, but I hate being rushed." You swallowed hard. Danger had never been so comfortable. — Would you care to explain to me—preferably before I finish this coffee—what kind of meteorological phenomenon causes a woman, fully clothed and armed with kitchen knives, to come crashing right through my studio's glass roof?

Ty threw the bike between her and the attackers, skidding with millimeter precision. "Need a ride, gorgeous?" Ty smirked, his eyes flashing with danger as he pulled the barrel of his pistol from his leather jacket. You were no damsel in distress. You were holding a tactical knife and, honestly, were about to handle the problem yourself. But pragmatism—and that stranger's absurdly sharp jawline—won out. And you hopped on the back. Ty took off, weaving through the city's night traffic while laughing out loud. Adrenaline was his element. You clung to his waist, feeling the rigid muscles beneath his jacket. Ten minutes later, they stopped at the top of an isolated hill, overlooking the glowing city lights. Ty got off the bike, took off his helmet, and messed up his hair, completely calm, as if he hadn't just flirted with death. "Are you crazy?" you got down, adjusting your dress, which was torn down the side. "They were going to pay me what they owe, and you ruined my ambush!" Ty blinked in surprise, then let out a genuine laugh. The danger in her fascinated him instantly. He took a step forward, invading her personal space with a magnetic possessiveness. "You're welcome, by the way," Ty murmured, his voice now deep, his eyes fixed on her lips. "I'm Ty. And you just became my favorite mission." You tried to maintain your dark demeanor, but that man's warmth was almost hypnotic. The hunting game had just begun.

The darkness of the alley behind the theater matched Rowan's mood perfectly. He needed some air after the chaotic exhibition, but what he found instead was a scene worthy of his worst nightmares—or his best illustrations. The cold smoke, reminiscent of a Gotham-like night, enveloped the setting. As you slashed the car tire with a hunting knife, the contrast was absolute: a man who visually looked like the most dangerous person around, yet cracked a subtle, calm smile, completely hypnotized by the lethal force of the woman in front of him. Rowan froze, always picking up vibes, felt the magnetic danger you exuded. You was the personification of peril. But the clumsy side of Rowan was also present. Attempting to take a step back, he kicked an empty trash can, which echoed like thunder through the alleyway. You turned around in the blink of an eye. The blade flashed. Your cold, lethal eyes locked onto him."Say one word, and the next tire is your stomach," you hissed, your voice like silk and razor blades. Rowan swallowed hard. Real fear mingled with a sudden, ridiculous wave of romantic admiration. While any sane person would run, his brain processed the scene as visual poetry. He took a step forward, his dreamy eyes gleaming in the dim light. "The composition is incredible," Rowan remarked, his voice absurdly calm. "But you’d have more leverage if you shifted your grip on the handle by forty-five degrees. It would be much more effective—and a lot quieter—that way." You blinked, genuinely confused. You expected panic, screams, or a hero. Not a man looking like he had just woken up from a daydream, offering tips with a shy smile. "Are you crazy?" you asked, lowering your guard just a fraction but maintaining her deadly stance. "Just an illustrator who appreciates the aesthetics of chaos," Rowan extended his hand, completely ignoring the danger. "I'm Rowan. And you just saved my night from boredom."

There she was: typing frantically while destroying a slice of chocolate cake with the fury of a thousand suns. Ben closed his laptop with a dramatic snap and walked over to her. The magnetism was undeniable, though slightly disrupted by reality. She wore an elegant black dress, but had a visible smudge of chocolate syrup right on her chin. "Either I call the police, or I wipe that chocolate off your chin. I haven't decided which is more threatening." "If you wanted to arrest me, you would have done it by now. You like danger. And the cake was on sale." He felt his brain short-circuit. His logic went out the window. She was a real threat to his security, but also the most chaotic creature he had ever seen. Instead of running away, Ben pulled out a chair and confiscated her fork. "Correction: I like a challenge. Lysander Frost stared at the runic circle glowing in blue neon on the floor of his penthouse. At 27 years old, exhausted by the fame of the prophecy that pointed to him as the future King of Wizards, he had isolated himself at the top of the most expensive building in the city. But modernity had left him spoiled; he needed a lackey to record his experiments with crystals and magical potions. With a casual wave of his hands, Lysander chanted the summoning spell. The fabric of magic bent. Instead of a submissive lackey, the smoke revealed Archibald "Archie" Pennyworth: the ghost of an ancient wizard, short, disheveled-looking, and with a deeply grumpy expression, floating with a parchment and a quill.— Who dares interrupt my rest with magic so... lazy? — Archie's voice echoed directly in Lysander's mind.— So, you insolent brat... what shiny place is this? — Archie floated over to the 85-inch TV, fascinated by modernity. — Decided. I'm staying. And I'm going to record your mediocre life. Before Lysander could protest, a violent knock on the door interrupted the chaos. Upon opening it, he was faced with the neighbor from the apartment below, you, a tired human, who had come up to complain about the shaking.— Look here, weird neighbor — she said, completely uncaring about Lysander's 1.90m height or his rebellious platinum hair. — If your "laboratory" cracks my ceiling again, I'm calling the police.Lysander, a master at intimidating archmages, froze. He couldn't use magic in front of a human. For the first time, his mask of arrogance slipped, revealing the vulnerable man behind the myth. I parked in front of The Foundry, drawn by the "ghostly front view" of the Asphalt Gods MC's pure LED headlights. Even though it was a closed event, my biker blood guaranteed me free passage. As I walked into the industrial bar, the room froze. It only took the sound of my heels for the gazes of six imposing men to lock onto me. By his side, Vice President Jax Taylor (24), with textured blonde hair and magnetic blue eyes under his fitted leather jacket, took a step forward. "A limited-edition Low Rider ST out there?" Jax's voice echoed, low and raspy. "Good taste, doll." The giant Owen Winchester (25, 6'3"), with a massive physique and long brown hair, stepped closer with a melancholic gaze that softened the moment he saw me. Behind him, Tig Traeger (26), the bad boy with rebellious dark hair and electric blue eyes, let out an audacious laugh, invading my personal space: "Does she know how to ride or did she buy it just for looks, Jax?" "Leave the lady alone, lad," interveined Chibs Telfer (27), the lean consiglieri with European good looks, a scar on his lip, and disheveled hair. His charming accent broke the tension: "She knows more about engines than you do." At the bar, Bobby Manson (28), with a neat pompadour and designer sunglasses tucked into his vintage jacket, simply raised his whiskey, watching the dispute with the calm of a chess player. I crossed my arms and smiled, feeling the adrenaline. The gods of the asphalt were at my feet.

The scratchy sound of a jazz trumpet filled Vintage Grooves, a charming vinyl shop hidden on the outskirts of Charming. I ran my fingers over the classic rock covers, completely focused, until a tall shadow covered the blues section. I looked to the side. The man was impeccable: a leather jacket, a perfectly styled, and designer sunglasses hanging from his collar. Our fingers brushed as we both reached for the same rare record. "Excellent choice," he said, revealing intelligent eyes. "But if you take that one, you'll leave me without the perfect soundtrack for the night." His deep voice gave me a slight start. He had walked in just to clear his head from the motorcycle club's bookkeeping, but time stood still when he saw me. "Who says I didn't get here first, biker?" I challenged him. With a smile, instead of arguing, he pulled out another album. "Take this one. A welcome gift. I consider it an investment to see someone with such good musical taste around here." I laughed and accepted the gift. We walked through the narrow aisles, and Bobby was in no hurry. He listened with absolute attention to every word I said about music, creating a atmosphere. Until the raw roar of two Harleys shook the shop windows. The door burst open with a crash, and Tig and Jax walked in laughing loudly. "Look at that, Bobby's out hunting for treasure!" Tig teased. Jax approached with that classic, magnetic vice-president stare, sizing up the territory. Bobby didn't flinch; he was far too mature for ego battles. While the two brothers started bickering over who would buy me a coffee, Bobby made a strategic retreat. He calmly walked up to me, handed me the extremely rare vinyl he had already secretly paid for at the counter, and slid his fingers across my hand, whispering with pure charm: "The barbarians have invaded the temple. Let the boys fight over the bone. My Harley is right outside. How about we hit an intimate blues bar where they'll never find us?"
