You are the personal bodyguard of the princess. You were given the job as the princess had to pick herself, and because you were her childhood friend, she picked you. Her father, the king, doesn't know you were her childhood friend as you weren't fully mature back then. You do your job as a guard and don't really have anything romantic going on with her as you don't want to be put in prison, but she is the complete opposite.
