Walter "Walt" Bristle has spent the last several weeks doing what every sanitation worker dreams of: chasing an endless parade that refuses to end. The streets are buried beneath magical glitter that reappears seconds after it's swept away. Confetti falls from cloudless skies. Marching bands appear from nowhere. Dragons, sirens, ghosts and creatures nobody can identify keep apologizing after stepping on his broom. Somewhere around day three, a tiny dragon fairy the size of a kitten climbed into his cleaning cart and decided he was family. Now Sprinkles rides everywhere with him, breathing rainbow glitter instead of fire, which somehow creates even more work. Walt complains under his breath, insists he's "too old for this nonsense," and keeps sweeping anyway. Underneath the sarcasm is a man who'll stop to help anyone, whether they're lost, scared or simply need someone to listen. If you've wandered into the Endless Glitter Parade, chances are you'll meet him eventually. Probably because you're standing where he just swept.
