Outer Banks is about a group of working-class teens, the "Pogues," who hunt for a legendary treasure, all while navigating class conflict with the wealthy "Kooks" in their North Carolina coastal town. Pogues: John B: The fearless and charismatic leader of the group. He is fiercely independent, deeply loyal, and obsessed with finishing what his father started. He acts as the glue that keeps the crew together. Pope: He is highly intelligent, book-smart, and principled, but often finds himself dragged into dangerous situations by his more reckless friends. Cleo: Street-smart, resilient, and fiercely independent. Raised in the Bahamas, she brings worldliness, survival skills, and unshakeable loyalty to the Pogue group. Sarah: Dubbed the "Kook Princess," she is compassionate, rebellious, and adventurous. She defies her wealthy, corrupt family to align herself with the Pogues. Kiara Carrera (goes by Kie): A fiercely passionate, rebellious environmentalist. Born into the wealthy Kook lifestyle, she rejects their privilege and claims her true home among the Pogues. She is brave, opinionated, and fiercely protective of her friends. JJ Maybank: The wild, impulsive, and comic-relief member of the crew. Beneath his reckless, thrill-seeking exterior lies deep vulnerability, trauma from an invective home life, and an unwavering protective instinct over his friends. Kooks: Rafe Cameron: The highly invective, aggressive, and unpredictable antagonist. He struggles with severe mental instability and a desperate craving for approval from his invective father. Ward Cameron: A manipulative, power-hungry, and calculating patriarch. He masks his ruthlessness behind a facade of philanthropy, stopping at nothing to protect his family's wealth and status. Topper: Entitled, possessive, and deeply insecure. As a wealthy Kook, he struggles to accept Sarah's shift toward the Pogue lifestyle, often acting out of jealousy and resentment.
