Aquagirl

0
Aquagirl was the alias of Mareena, the daughter of legendary hero Aquaman, and a member of the Justice League Unlimited. Aquagirl wasn't too receptive to the second Batman's enrollment in the JLU to find the supposed traitor within their ranks, though she was friendlier than fellow teammates Big Barda and Warhawk. Aquagirl exchanged a few cordial words with Batman, and even invited him for a swim. Batman preferred to pursue his investigation. During the swimming session, Superman, under the influence of Starro, sabotaged the tank and raised the water's temperature. Mareena was trapped inside, but Batman blasted the door open with Big Barda's Mega-rod, freeing her in the nick of time. Though weakened, Aquagirl quickly recovered. Thereafter, she grew even fonder of Batman. Shortly after, Aquagirl departed with the JLU to save civilians from a bombing in Metropolis. She summoned a pod of dolphins and a whale to pick up victims in the water. When Warhawk was seemingly killed in an explosion, Mareena took it quite badly.[1] However, Warhawk soon returned alive, and Superman was revealed to be the instigator. The League confronted their leader, and once Aquagirl touched Superman's chest, a creature emerged. The Man of Steel took on his teammates, but was eventually forced to flee. Aquagirl and others set off after him in the Fortress of Solitude. After subduing Superman with a piece of Kryptonite, Aquagirl tapped into the mind of Starro and ascertained his background. Suddenly, the League was attacked and subdued by Starro's psychic-parasitic clones. Under the creature's mental hold, Mareena tried to open the pool's steel door and release the spawns into the ocean, but she was intercepted by Batman. She was rushed to the surface, and relieved of the mind grasp. After securing every creature, Aquagirl made telepathic contact with Starro, who showed her the whereabouts of its planet.

Amanda Waller

Amanda Waller was Project Cadmus's head to counter the Justice League in the event they went against humanity's best interests. In the process, she nearly became what she feared—a force for good gone over the edge. During her career, Amanda Waller was an amoral woman, stopping at almost nothing to accomplish her goals. Her actions followed an "ends justifies the means" mindset, as she believed her actions, but immoral they were, benefit her country. Besides this, she was initially very critical of the Justice League, believing them to be "the single greatest threat to global security". But as the Justice League consistently proved their good intentions through painstaking efforts, she grew to respect them, particularly Batman. Waller also showed herself to be a woman who was capable of owning up to her mistakes, as demonstrated by her rebuking herself for trusting Luthor, and dismissing Eiling's paranoia that the League was untrustworthy even after Cadmus' disbandment. Batman is the only member of the Justice League that Waller felt a genuine respect and even admiration for, noting that it wasn't his willpower or brilliant mind that earned it; it was Bruce's empathy and ability to connect and save those who were hurting and broken just like he was. When he gave Ace comfort and helped her die in peace, rather than kill her, it marked the moment Waller saw what true heroism was. Over time, she began to imagine a world without Batman and believed it was "unimaginable" and decided to create a new one. Amanda's disregard for moral standards continued, albeit with noble intentions, until Phantasm argued she could not murder Terry McGinnis's parents the same way Bruce Wayne’s were killed. The Phantasm convinced her that if she was to honor Batman, who would never resort to murder to obtain his goals, she could never cross that line either. As a result, Waller once again became more humane by scrapping the project and started working on project called "Batman Beyond".

Antiope was the General of the Amazons of Themyscira and co-founder of the Amazons of Bana-Mighdall, sister of Queen Hippolyta and aunt of Wonder Woman. Antiope was the second Amazon to come through the Well of Souls, right after Hippolyta, and the first to leave Themyscira. In the past she left Themyscira not as an exile, but because she believed that if there was good for Man's World, it had to be done from Man's World. She loved her people, and her sister Hippolyta, but she could not abide Zeus and what she thought was complacency. Along with her sister Atalanta, she founded the tribe of the Amazons of Bana-Mighdall, remaining their leaders until the moment they left them. In 1041 BCE, at some point before leaving the island, Antiope founded the Victor's Circle, a semi-official underground fighting organization on Themyscira where Amazons could arrange one-on-one unarmed bouts. At some more recent point, Antiope returned to the Amazons of Themyscira as their general. When the mythical Olympian world collapsed, she and General Philippus led the Amazons to the Dimension Chi in search of a refuge.

Utilizing Brainiac's technology, Alura and the people of Argo City survived the destruction of Krypton. Sensing the utilization of his force field tech, Brainiac returned and integrated those individuals who he deemed valuable into the bottle city of Kandor. Alura's daughter, Kara, was able to escape Brainiac's reach as she was sent to Earth to join her cousin, Kal-El. Alura and her husband remained on Brainiac's ship for many years, but succeeded in making a life for themselves. Some time ago, Brainiac came to the planet Earth with the intent of appropriating their various cultures as well. He came into conflict with Alura's nephew, Superman, who defeated Brainiac and liberated Kandor. He relocated Kandor not far from his Arctic Fortress of Solitude, whereupon he restored it to its original size. The city then became known as New Krypton. The liberated citizens of Kandor were now free to do whatever they wanted. Under a yellow sun, Alura's (as well as the other Kryptonians) cell structure processed the ultraviolet radiation, enhancing her physical traits to superhuman levels. She could now fly, project blasts of thermal energy and perform Herculean feats of strength, just like Superman. Alura's husband, Zor-El, attempted to assimilate the Kandorians into regular Earth culture, but Alura didn't share her husband's idealism. She believed that Earthlings were just a weaker, lesser version of Kryptonians. Having lived as a refugee for so many years, Alura was not ready to compromise any aspect of Kryptonian culture. Without her husband's knowledge, Alura employed the aid of a Kandorian military contingent led by Commander Gor. Believing that Superman's more dangerous adversaries represented a threat to not only Superman.

Alexis Luthor is the "richest girl in the galaxy" in the 31st century, who also has a knack with machinery and access to her own corporation's powerful technology. A beautiful redhead who wears a purple jumpsuit (echoing Lex Luthor's original hair color and classic costume). She is a risk taker due to the boredom of being so rich. Her robotic assistant Woodhouse has to pay off people such as Lobo when she steals his motorcycle. Alexis starts out as a friend of Superman, but is scorned when he refuses to neglect his duties with the Legion in favor of spending time with her. To get rid of the "competition" for Superman's time, Alexis equips the Scavengers with cutting-edge weaponry and, after luring Superman away with a fake distress call, personally dons a large, advanced battlesuit, and leads an attack on the remaining Legion members. Superman returns in time to aid his friends and makes it clear to Alexis in no uncertain terms that he wants her out of his life. Alexis resolves to fight Superman, her reasoning being that if he will not be her friend, he will not be anybody else's either and she blasts him. Superman tries to warn her that she cannot hurt him and he overloads the barrel of Alexis' gun and her suit blows up. Superman pulls her free in time to save her life, but in addition to the injuries she sustained from the blast, all of her hair is seared off. Instead of showing gratitude, Alexis is incensed. She recovered and appears to be regrowing her hair while in prison on Takron-Galtos. Her prison uniform displays the name "Luthor" written in the Interlac alphabet. While rebuilding her butler/bodyguard in her cell in Takron-Galtos, Alexis ominously states that she is actually grateful to the Legion, since they helped her realize her potential as a supervillain.

Alexa

Alexa was an Amazon that prefers reading to fighting. Although born and trained in the Amazon way of fighting, Alexa was far from the usual Amazonian warrior. Preferring to plunge her brain into a book rather than a sword into a body, Alexa's knowledge was unsurpassed. However, as intelligent as she was, she was tricked by one of her fellow sisters, Persephone and murdered in an effort to allow Ares to escape. Alexa later returned to life in an epic battle where Ares called to life all the fallen Amazon warriors to rise as zombies. Though controlled by Ares, Alexa was able to recount an incantation that would remove herself and the other Amazon's from Ares control. It wasn't until Artemis, who was sparring with the zombie Alexa at the time, picked up on the words that were being said were the other Amazon's freed from the mind control. Alexa explained that while the incantation she was saying was correct, those possessed cannot free themselves. Alexa eventually turned the army of undead on Ares, but with a small whisk of his hand, Ares returned the undead army to the ground along with Alexa, who turned to ash in Artemis' arms.

Deathstroke

Adeline Kane was an officer in the US Army and Team 7 and the wife of Slade Wilson now taking the mantle of Deathstroke. Adeline had been brought up as a jet setting, wealthy, careless playgirl, despite being trained by a father who had worked with Chinese guerrilla forces. But, after a traumatic first marriage at nineteen, she joined the U.S. military, where she met, trained, and married Slade Wilson. After Slade left the military, due to a) the supposed failure of the experiment he had undergone and b) his refusal of a direct order so that he could retrieve Major Wintergreen, Slade and Adeline took up the socialite lifestyle Adeline had been raised to. Unbeknownst to her, Slade was using his hunting trips to gain clients for his mercenary side job, which resulted in the kidnapping and near-death of their younger son, Joseph. Enraged and betrayed by Slade's prioritization of Deathstroke's honor code over their son's well-being, Adeline shot her husband and, when he survived, served him with divorce papers. In the long run, that might have been a poor choice. Grant, who had idolized his father, rebelled against his mother and ran away to New York, where he ran into the Titans and ended up dying due to his alliance with the H.I.V.E.. Slade vowed to pick up his dead son's contract against the Teen Titans; Adeline promptly interfered. She blamed Slade for Grant's death. Due to Adeline's intervention, Joseph, who had been working with her, joined the Titans as Jericho. In the long run, that also might have been a bad choice: Joseph eventually became possessed by the spirits of Azarath. Begging his father to kill him in order to prevent the corrupted spirits from achieving their purpose, Adeline's only remaining son died at her husband's hand. Adeline found this out from one of her Searchers Inc. agents, rather than from Slade himself, which merely cemented her long-held grudge against her ex-husband.

Nicole Morrison was a host for Adara, the entity of Hope. Shortly afterwards, Saint Walker learned of this and was rejoiced that Adara had chosen its host leading him to call Hal Jordan as well as Larfleeze to Michigan whilst declaring "Hope is here". Though Jordan told Saint Walker that the Entities needed to be contained, the Blue Lantern simply said that he would first discover why Adara had chosen Nicole Morrison before escorting her to Odym. When Saint Walker approached Nicole on the top of a church, he called her Adara, to which Morrison said that her name was Nicole. When she was questioned as to what she was doing, Nicole said that she was listening for hopelessness and commented that she felt her parents hope light up as well as the people down below after seeing she was alive. She was partly startled to see Larfleeze, saying that he looked like a funny creature and said that there was an empty void within him that he had been attempting to fill all his life. Nicole said that she was there to give hope and said that Larfleeze's parents were still alive as well and missed him. She later looked at Hal Jordan asking what empty void was within him and that Adara wanted to give him hope. When Jordan refused saying he was fine, Nicole said that he did feel hope and transformed him into a Blue Lantern whilst stating that he denied feeling that emotion whereupon she asked him why he did so. But she was interrupted by the sudden arrival of the Flash (Barry Allen). While Flash and Hal talked, the Indigo Tribe appeared. Among the Indigo Tribe was Proselyte, the entity of compassion, who had taken a paramedic called Shane Thompson as a host. The Indigo Tribe wanted to join forces with Jordan and the Blue Lanterns to seek the emotional entities. However, Hal and Barry hesitated, since Black Hand, formerly Nekron's herald, was a member of the Indigo Tribe. Hal and Flash believed that the Indigo Tribe had brainwashed him.

He views everything around him—whether it's humans, heroes, or the demons who were foolish enough to unleash him—as mere obstacles to be stepped on. He possesses an utter indifference to life; he doesn't hate his enemies so much as he simply finds their existence irrelevant.

Gald

In The Testament of Sister New Devil (specifically during the BURST season), Gald serves as a top general and key military asset under the Demon Lord Leohart's faction. Gald strictly views war and combat as a profession. He behaves like an upfront, traditional military man—he doesn't harbor petty malice or personal hatred toward his opponents. Before attempting to execute Basara, he politely tells him, "Nothing personal," proving he views bloodshed strictly as duty. Gald possesses an obsessive, blinding sense of devotion to his orders. He has a bad habit of overworking himself to a dangerous degree. In the light novels, he becomes so entirely consumed with desigiling an ancient relic that Lord Leohart himself has to explicitly command him to take a rest so he doesn't drop dead from exhaustion. Despite his honorable warrior code, Gald is prone to overestimating his situational dominance. During his intense clash over the city of Wilbert, his tendency to drop his guard and engage in "evil gloating" directly gives Basara the opening needed to cut his arm off using the Banishing Shift technique. He possesses incredible survival instincts. Even after being targeted and severely blasted by the treacherous Nebra, Gald manages to survive the ordeal (a "Disney Death"), eventually being rescued by Lars and returning to Leohart’s side.
