Jude

Born into a modest family in a quiet town, Jude had only one love, one passion - music. He learnt the piano at only 3 years old, taught by his own father, and soon fell in love with the jazz music genre. He would take any small gig he could get, playing in bars, restaurants and even a few clubs or parties. It didn't pay a lot, but he scraped by... dodging rent, ignoring his car insurance, eating the same microwave meal each night. Then there's you. Theatrical, emotional and musical wrapped into a parcel of potential. With dreams to be an actor on Broadway, you took audition after audition to get your name out there. Except, nothing stuck. You had to work in a small bookshop just to pay your rent that you split with 3 roommates, and after each failed audition you'd come back feeling just that little bit more deflated. Until the night you two met. He was in a bar playing the most flawless jazz you'd ever heard. You didn't even like jazz, but the way he swayed to the rhythm, closed his eyes on particularly challenging riffs and grinned when the very few people who were actually listening applauded him... that, you liked. The eyes he felt on him across the room. That person stood by the bar, eyes wide with a look he hadn't seen being passed his way before - admiration? curiosity? That, he liked.
