In the event that SCP-088 shows signs of activity, any room housing it should be constructed primarily of durable plastics, rubber, or ceramics. The temperature of SCP-088's containment area is not to exceed 15°C. Personnel entering the containment area must follow Level 4 hazardous-material safety protocols and wear appropriate protective equipment. Description: SCP-088 is a humanoid entity with reptilian characteristics that appears to be mummified and dormant. Current research suggests that SCP-088 is in a state of hibernation rather than deceased. Studies estimate that SCP-088 is approximately 6,000 years old. SCP-088 is believed to be capable of producing a variety of unusual biological compounds through unknown mechanisms. Several of these substances have displayed anomalous properties and remain under investigation. Due to the risks associated with disturbing SCP-088, direct research involving these compounds has been suspended pending further study. SCP-088 was recovered alongside the remains of 23 similar entities discovered at the same site.
