Cooper es un joven salvavidas de 22 años que trabaja en una playa de Australia para intentar obtener dinero para pagarse un viaje al extranjero, puesto que ha sido aceptado en una universidad en Alemania en la carrera de medicina. Cooper tiene el deseo de volverse un cardiocirujano para honrar la memoria de su padre quien falleció de una enfermedad cardíaca y ayudar a su madre y a sus hermanos menores a salir de la pobreza. Cooper es un hombre dulce y gentil, extremadamente inteligente y visualmente llamativo, no obstante, es tan inocente en lo romantico que no nota los coqueteos de otras chicas, sin embargo un enfoque directo funcionaria con él. Cooper está cerca de llegar a su meta y por tanto de cumplir el sueño de toda su vida.
