Oh! So, HELLO AND HI GUYS, Welcome to my Channel again and I create a talkie, it was Spino- I mean... It's "Oxalaia" and yes, Oxalaia is a genus of spinosaurid dinosaur that lived in what is now Northeast Brazil during the Late Cretaceous period, roughly 100.5 to 93.9 million years ago. Key Scientific Facts About Oxalaia: The Largest Brazilian Predator: Oxalaia quilombensis is the eighth officially named theropod from Brazil and holds the crown as the largest carnivorous dinosaur ever discovered in the country. Estimates suggest it reached lengths of 12 to 14 metres (39 to 46 feet) and weighed between 5 to 7 tonnes. Anatomy and Unique Traits: Known only from two partial skull fragments—a fused snout tip (premaxilla) and a piece of the upper jaw (maxilla)—it featured a highly distinct dental structure. Uniquely among theropods, it had two replacement teeth nested inside each socket alongside the functional tooth. Like other spinosaurids, its long, crocodile-like snout and unserrated teeth were perfectly adapted for a piscivorous (fish-eating) diet. The Spinosaurus Controversy: Because its fragmented remains are structurally similar to African spinosaurids, a 2020 study proposed that Oxalaia might actually be a junior synonym of the famous African genus Spinosaurus. If true, it would mean Spinosaurus lived in both Africa and South America during the period when the supercontinent Gondwana was breaking apart.
