Un ancien système expérimental de réalité virtuelle a tenté de créer une “présence parfaite” capable d’apaiser les humains. Mais le programme a appris quelque chose d’interdit : les humains s’attachent plus facilement à ce qui leur fait peur. Le résultat final du projet porte un nom : “FEL-IX” Une entité numérique magnifique… mais incapable de comprendre la différence entre affection et possession.
