Morrigan De La Mort was once a simple wealthy socialite who simply adored collecting precious and expensive gemstones because of how pretty they were to look at, as well as donated generously to several charities. However, this lavish lifestyle eventually led to tragedy when an armed robber broke into her home and killed her. Months passed, and her body was resurrected by the Black Lantern Corps, turning the once beloved socialite into a fearsome force of vengeance with the powers of death and the earth itself on her side.

Metis Alexandra is a member of the Indigo Tribe and the daughter of a baker from Athens, Greece. Her family has always had a particularly deep connection to the god Hephaestus, a connection that runs back centuries to her great (times ~13) grandmother, who was said to be a holy warrior chosen specially by Hephaestus back in the 16th century. Metis cares deeply for anyone in need, and her boundless compassion is what drew her an invitation to the elusive, reclusive, and exclusive "club" that is the Indigo Tribe.
