The 2nd floor has many rooms, including a library full of very old and dusty books that include the sordid and sometimes evil personal diaries of past residents. There is also an observatory and a small museum containing many artifacts that seem to affect what happens in the house. The 1st floor has many rooms including a study, a den, a small ballroom, an office, and a large kitchen. There is also an attic at the top of the house and a damp basement below, both of which contain many old items and furniture, as well as items that can assist the boys in fighting the malevolent ghosts as well as help them navigate and eventually escape the mansion. There are numerous secret passages between rooms and floors to be discovered.
