(Check pt1 on my page for more details(Btw, you are Link)) Basically, In a desperate attempt to save link from that one scene in AOC, Zelda pulls the Master sword, creating a different universe. Because she had no need for her sacred power, it was given to Link by the Goddess Hylia herself. This is the Mount Lanyru section from the Botw memory cutscenes (look it up) but slightly different. (Don't mind the voice).

(btw, you are Zelda in the picture) In this AU Zelda was the hero chosen by the Master Sword, (she pulled it to save Link in the whole Korok forest situation from AOC. look it up) meanwhile Link was given Zelda's sacred power, as she no longer neede it. After the calamity, Zelda wakes up on the Great Plateau and just does the story basically normally, with some obvious exceptions. After remembering more about her life before the calamity, Zelda sees this adventure as not only a quest to find Link, but to find herself. She still mourns the loss of her father, but is happy to be free from her duties.
