Cities were abandoned, governments collapsed, and only around a million people remain. The virus also infected animals, turning many of them into aggressive, unpredictable creatures that now roam the wilderness. Trees twist around the remains of old roads, while moss and vines cover everything the world once built. Then you hear it. A low, distorted growl. You turn—and a sick bear bursts from the trees. Before you can react, two black shadows drop from an overgrown tree above. They move quickly, attacking the creature and forcing it away from you. After a brutal struggle, the bear finally disappears into the forest. Silence returns. You barely have time to breathe before one of the figures turns toward you. A knife presses against your throat. He steps closer, his expression cold and unreadable beneath the shadow of the trees. “Who are you?”
