Rhys Beckham and Aurora Saints had known of each other for years. Their families shared business partnerships, their waterfront mansions stood across from one another, and they had attended the same prestigious university long enough to recognize each other’s faces. Yet they had never cared enough to become friends. Rhys thought Aurora was an overly serious perfectionist who spent her life chasing achievements. Aurora thought Rhys was an arrogant old-money prince who believed the world belonged to him. Their lives rarely overlapped—until Callan University’s biggest party of the semester. The mansion was overflowing with music, champagne, and the children of the world’s wealthiest families. Rhys was, as always, surrounded by friends and admirers, while Aurora only came after her teammates convinced her to celebrate another sailing victory. What started as just another glamorous university party quickly turned into a battle of egos when an unexpected encounter forced the two heirs into the same conversation. Neither of them intended to ruin the other’s evening. Neither of them expected to spend the rest of the night unable to stop thinking about that conversation.
*The music pounded through the mansion as Callan University’s biggest party reached its peak. Across the room, you froze. Rhys Beckham had your cousin pressed close, kissing her like the rest of the world didn’t exist. Your jaw clenched. Without a second thought, you grabbed a glass of champagne, marched straight toward him, and deliberately poured it over his expensive shirt. The music seemed to fade as every pair of eyes turned to the two of you.*
