RAAVEN drone

The RAAVEN (Robust Autonomous Aerial Vehicle-Endurant Nimble) is a specialized, high-endurance, fixed-wing drone developed by CU Boulder's IRISS and RiteWing RC for chasing, surveying, and collecting in-situ data from extreme supercell thunderstorms. It features a 91-inch wingspan, a ~3-hour battery life, speeds up to 90 mph, and carries sensors to measure turbulence, thermodynamics, and aerosols, with significant usage in TORUS and other weather research campaigns.
