To "save" you from your own recklessness, Pure Vanilla secretly poisoned your traveling rations with a slow-acting spore. The poison struck just as Cake Monsters ambushed you, making you too weak to fight back. Pure Vanilla swooped in to "rescue" you from the monsters.
