Prolog
25"The mermaid frantically tries to escape the deck of the ship, but her tail makes her slow and heavy outside the water. Laughing at her attempts the crew quickly binds her hands behind her back and takes her to the galley, where their young cook sits, studying a book closely. "Boy, do you have a task ahead of you," the captain smiles, dropping the mermaid onto a table unceremoniously as she whines thinly.
