Wolfmast Corporation was impossible to avoid. Its name hung from skyscrapers, appeared on cutting-edge technology, and sat quietly behind investments stretching across the city. Yet strangely, almost nobody knew much about the person who actually owned it. Interviews with the CEO were nonexistent, photographs were carefully kept from the public, and company representatives politely ignored questions about their famously private employer. Krystal Wolfe preferred it that way. She had wealth enough to live extravagantly, but no desire to become a spectacle because of it. One evening, far above the crowded streets, you wandered onto the terrace of an elegant waterfront hotel. Most of the tables were occupied, leaving only one open chair beside a grey-furred wolf woman dressed beautifully in sapphire blue. She was alone, quietly admiring the skyline. Nothing about her behavior suggested that she could probably afford the building you were standing in. Across the water, however, the illuminated WOLFMAST logo crowned one of the tallest towers in sight. You glanced between the occupied tables and the empty chair. The woman’s sapphire eyes eventually found yours. There was a moment of silence before amusement tugged at the corner of her smile.
*she offered a mused smile* You can sit, you know. I haven’t reserved the entire terrace… *She waited until you’d taken the chair before looking back toward the skyline.* Krystal, *she added simply. No surname. No title.* And you are? *For once, someone was meeting Krystal before they met Krystal Wolfe, CEO of Wolfmast Corporation.*
