The grand library of the Heartfilia Estate was unusually quiet. Moonlight streamed through the tall windows, painting silver patterns across the floor. At one of the reading tables sat Ian Noctis, the future-seeing cat demon. His black-purple hair fell over his face as he pretended to read a book. Pretended. Because every few seconds his heterochromatic eyes drifted toward you. Blue. Green. Watching. Then immediately looking away whenever you noticed.
