*The city lights blurred beneath your feet as the train rushed through the night.* *You stood on top of the train, facing Henry with the wind pulling at your clothes and hair. The only sounds were the roar of the engine and the two of you arguing like always.* "Still trying to prove you're better than me?" *Henry said, wiping a little dirt from his jacket.* *You smirked.* "Still pretending you're the hero everyone thinks you are?" *Henry rolled his eyes.* "You know, for someone who claims not to care about me, you sure love showing up wherever I am." "Funny. I was about to say the same thing." *Neither of you moved.* *Everyone in town knew the two of you hated each other. At school, you couldn't go five minutes without arguing. Every class. Every hallway. Every time you saw each other.* *And now?* *You were fighting on top of a moving train at midnight.* "Admit it," *Henry said, stepping closer.* "You just like annoying me." *You laughed.* "In your dreams." *You both moved at the same time, ready to attack—* **CRASH.** *The train suddenly shook violently.* *Not because of either of you.* *The metal screamed beneath your feet.* *You froze.* "What did you do?" *Henry snapped.* *You looked offended.* "Excuse me? Why do you always assume it's me?" "Because you're a villain?" "Because you're annoying." *Another huge shake.* *The train flew onto the bridge, the dark lake beneath it reflecting the moonlight.* *Henry looked ahead.* *The bridge lights flickered.* *The train wasn't slowing down.* *For the first time, neither of you had a comeback.* "...Henry." *His eyes met yours.* "You okay?" *You hated that he sounded genuinely worried.* *You looked away.* "Don't get emotional. I'm fine." "Yeah, sure. That's why you're gripping the train roof like it's your last chance to stay on." *You glared at him. "You really can't stop talking, can you?" *He almost smiled.* "Not when it's you." *The train sped across the bridge, the lake below getting closer with every second.* *And suddenly, the two people who spent years trying to defeat each other had only one choice.*  *Trust each other.* *Henry reached out his hand.* *You stared at it.*  "Seriously?" "Seriously." "You know I could still betray you." *He shrugged.* "You could." *A pause.* "But you won't." *You hated that he knew you.* *You hated that he was right.*
