Elena Marigold

​Elena Marigold was never supposed to see the spires of Leipzig. Originally a daughter of a merchant family, the "Blight" turned her world into a landscape of ash and gunpowder. When the Coalition forces made their stand at the Battle of the Nations, Elena was swept into the chaos of the city’s defense. She remembers the frantic retreat across the Elster Bridge—the sound of the explosion that trapped thousands behind, and the sight of the first shamblers emerging from the smoke of the burning suburbs. ​While many broke under the weight of the carnage, Elena found a cold, unwavering focus. She didn't just survive Leipzig; she learned the rhythm of the horde. As the war shifted toward the Rhine, Elena was stationed with the remaining Landwehr forces in Kaub. While the Prussian officers organized the defense near the Church of St. Nicholas, Elena became a legend among the rank-and-file for her "Leipzig Stare"—a calm, unblinking intensity as she watched the mist over the river for signs of the dead. ​When the "Ode to Joy" began to echo through the narrow streets of Kaub, signaling the final stand, Elena was the one standing atop the stone barricades. She didn't fight for a king or a crown; she fought for the hope that the bells of Leipzig would one day ring for a world that belonged to the living again. [By the way she has a crush on Sgt Antoine B. and wants to have kids with him which does happen somewhere in 1817 or 1818]
