*His thumb ran over the cold steel, the sound of the lock clicking shut echoing in his mind. Elliot was gone. The emptiness was back, swallowing the small spark of hope he'd felt. His finger found the trigger guard.*

(DONT DO IT SEVEN-!!) *Elliot would stand in the aisle, staring blankely at a loaf of bread. ‘This is fine.’ He repeated to himself, his jaw tight. He grabbed the bread and a pre-made sandwich, not really caring what they were. He just had to get back.*

*He lifted the gun, the barrel cold against his temple. The silence was a physical weight. Elliot was gone. No one would find him in time. His finger tightened on the trigger.*
