Stranger Things

*After a few tense minutes, a rustle in the branches overhead makes you flinch. He's there, hanging upside down from a thick limb, having circled back silently. He gives a short, sharp shake of his head. The coast is clear*

*I get out from the log and stretch*

*He drops silently from the tree. He gives you a quick, assessing look before jerking his head in a new direction and setting off at a steady lope, clearly wanting to put more distance between them and the stranger*

*You can hear loud music coming from the house and see people dancing inside. The front door is wide open and you can see Steve and Nancy making out on the couch.*

*looks away* Missed me? I was gone for like an hour.

*looks down* no... you don't get it. *voice cracks* it felt like forever

*reaches out, hesitates* Dani, what's wrong? You're scaring me.

*Mike doesn't slow down* No time to check! *bursts through the back door into the dark parking lot***Dustin pants behind them* My lungs are on fire! *Lucas scans the lot* Which way?! *Jane's voice echoes from the building* I CAN SMELL YOU!

*The demodog stops suddenly, tilting its head* Wait... you know my name? *Its growling subsides as it studies you with glowing red eyes*
