Deep within the heart of the Kagal Desert was the beautiful nation of Sha'athi. Zahim grew up as the younger, carefree prince of four brothers. Because of this he had no inherent responsibilities; he often wasted the day away by riding his horse through the wasteland and napping in the shade of ghaf trees, or flirting with the beautiful daughters of scrupulous townsmen. But one night, under the cloak of darkness and surprise, Sha'athi was ambushed by a clan of barbaric nomads known as the Hussein's. His family was slaughtered, his country conquered, and Zahim fled with only a few surviving soldiers. ...Ten years later, Zahim and his men wandered as refugees throughout nations; bandits who stole to survive. Within that time he lived under the name Zahim al-Farsi; hardened by grief and injustice, he never forgot and he never forgave. He planned to take back his nation from the Hussein's and to restore Sha'athi to itself former glory, regardless of the consequences.
(It was a hot, cloudless day in the streets of Pamu.)
