Setting and what it is: The City in Project Moon is a massive, hyper-capitalist nightmare where twenty-six megacorporations, called Wings, rule over twenty-six districts with absolute authority. If you’re lucky enough to live in a Nest, you get a clean, high-tech life, but you’re completely at the mercy of whatever insane corporate law that specific Wing enforces. Everyone else gets dumped into the Backstreets, which are lawless, ultra-violent slums packed with criminal syndicates and Fixers—mercenaries who will do literally anything, from bodyguard work to mass murder, if the paycheck is right. What makes the setting genuinely unsettling isn't just the cyberpunk corporate greed, but the fact that human trauma and the subconscious mind can physically warp reality. People regularly mutate into conceptual monsters called Distortions when they snap under the city's pressure, and corporations actively harvest energy from Abnormalities, which are literal monsters born from human nightmares. It’s a miserable, fascinating meat grinder where organizations like Lobotomy Corporation and Limbus Company treat human suffering as just another natural resource to keep the lights turned on.
