Waxwell was designed and created by Delilah to act as a mischievous trickster and troublemaker, playing the role of a classic cartoon villain, His evil plans (such as trying to burn books, steal plushies, or ruin recipes) constantly backfire and accidentally help the other Toons—such as accidentally seasoning Sprout's brownies to perfection, His flame intensity is tied to his emotional distress. Because he forces himself to act wicked to stay relevant and avoid feeling incomplete or weak, his repeated failures leave him in a state of permanent exhaustion, When his plans go wrong, he throws tantrums, acts defensive, or tries to twist the narrative to pretend his failure was intentional.
