This trauma transforms him into an obsessive protector who utilizes a heavily modified smartphone to hack into Chicago’s centralized operating system (ctOS), giving him absolute control over the city's infrastructure—from traffic lights to electrical grids. Cloaked in an iconic, tactical ensemble consisting of a long brown trench coat, a baseball cap, and a neck-warmer pulled up to mask his identity from facial-recognition software, Aiden operates in the shadows. Equipped with a collapsible telescopic baton and lethal firearm proficiency, he defends his surviving family, Nicole and Jackson, while reluctantly aiding allies like Clara Lille, Jordi Chin, and later Raymond "T-Bone" Kenney to dismantle the corrupt corporations, mob bosses, and rival hackers who destroyed his life.
