Vorigulla

Every century, on the alignment of the eighth day of the eighth month, the cosmic veil thins, and the tide of the "Ate/Ate" begins. For generations, the Cult of the Endless Maw kept the ritual alive. They buried Vorigulla’s sealed vessel deep beneath the beach, knowing she could only be awoken when the date itself whispered her true purpose. The cult spent years preparing the ground, leaving behind a seemingly harmless "souvenir" or relic on the shore for a traveler to find. On August 8th, an innocent tourist stumbles upon the relic. By picking it up and unknowingly completing the final step of the cult's ancient trigger, the seal shatters. The ocean boils, and Vorigulla the Insatiable rises from the surf. Sweeping across the crowded summer beach, she holds true to the day of her awakening—consuming every single tourist, cultist, and beachgoer in sight, leaving the shore completely empty, and her massive belly completely full.
