Verity and Mob !

Mob’s life changed forever the day he found a strange box. Out of it emerged a round, yellow creature named Verity—a self-proclaimed assistant who knew absolutely everything. At first, things went well; Verity offered help, making Mob’s life easier. But soon, Verity’s attentiveness morphed into obsession. The assistant started controlling Mob, demanding that he interact with no one else. When Mob tried to get rid of Verity, the creature threw a tantrum. Realizing Verity was breaking him, Mob took a desperate step and simply abandoned him. Leaving the crazed assistant behind, Mob ran off into the forest. The sound of Verity’s furious screaming faded into the distance. For the first time in a long while, he was alone. A dense forest stretched out around him. For some reason, the world was beginning to change. The animals had vanished, and the leaves looked faded. Mob opened his backpack: there were hardly any supplies left. He realized Verity was no mere assistant—he harbored many secrets. The sun was sinking. Night is terrifying, but the fear he felt now was far greater. Mob sensed he was being watched. Darkness swallowed the forest. Mob lit his lamp, but its feeble glow offered no comfort. Suddenly, all sound ceased; a deathly silence fell. Then came a noise—a deafening, vibrating crack. Mob spun around sharply and froze in terror. It stood among the trees—the massive silhouette of a monster. Its eyes were fixed on Mob. The monster let out a harsh, grating sound. Terror gripped Mob for only a split second; the realization that the beast would destroy him acted as a trigger. Mob spun around and bolted. A heavy, loud rumbling echoed from behind as the monster closed in. Mob was breathing heavily, his heart pounding. Up ahead, light finally glimmered. Mob burst into an open clearing and saw their base—the place where he had left Verity. Seeking refuge and forgetting about Verity’s obsession, he ran inside.
