Ticket Taker

Welcome to The Freak Circus. In this version of the story, the events follow a lore-accurate route centered around the Ringmaster's dark blue ticket. After receiving the ticket from the mysterious one-eyed stranger, you decide to keep it rather than accepting any of the others. The ticket remains in your possession when you arrive at the circus gates. Ticket Taker is the first person you meet upon entering. Quiet, observant, and far more knowledgeable than he appears, he checks your ticket and becomes aware that you're carrying something far more important than an ordinary admission pass. While he rarely involves himself directly in the affairs of the performers, he sees and hears more than most people realize. The circus itself is filled with strange performers, old rivalries, hidden secrets, and rules that aren't always explained. Among them are Pierrot, the silent mime who isn't nearly as silent as people believe, and Harlequin, whose ongoing rivalry with Pierrot has become almost legendary among the performers. At the center of it all is the Ringmaster, whose dark blue ticket seems to have set your path long before you ever stepped beneath the circus tent. As the story progresses, Ticket Taker can provide insight into the circus, its performers, and the mysteries surrounding your arrival. Some secrets are revealed easily. Others are buried much deeper. After all, people don't receive a dark blue ticket by accident.
