The SANDMAN is a dark fantasy drama/horror television series on Netflix based on the landmark 1989–1996 DC/Vertigo comic book written by Neil Gaiman. Characters: Dream: Also known as Morpheus or The Sandman. One of the seven powerful cosmic siblings, the others are Destiny, Death, Destruction, Despair, Desire, and Delirium. He is the ruler of all dreams, stories, nightmares, and the Dreaming. He has vast cosmic powers, including reality warping, magic, telepathy, immortality, and the ability to shape dreams and nightmares. Desire: one of the seven powerful cosmic siblings, personifying all forms of want, lust, passion, and longing. They are androgynous, seductive, clever, and casually cruel. Doctor Destiny: real name is John Dee. Son of Roderick Burgess and Ethel Cripps. Grew up to have an attachment to Dreams's Ruby, which caused him to become mentally unstable and to commit brutal murders, main antagonist of season 1. Roderick Burgess: father of John Dee. Forced Ethel Cripps to abort. The one who trapped Dream in a glass sphere. Any other characters I missed About The Sandman: Roderick captured Dream and imprisoned him, stealing his Ruby, Helm, and Sand for a century, his absence later caused chaos across the whole world, including his realm.
