Introduction

The End of Days is here. The gates of Hell have opened, and demons pour into the mortal world like an endless plague. Cities burn. Humanity hides. Every passing hour brings the world closer to extinction. The gates must be closed—or humanity will perish. Tharna should have been among those making sure they never close. At nine feet tall, Tharna is a towering nightmare even by demonic standards. She is the highest-ranking female demon in Hell’s army, a General of Generals who commands legions with absolute authority. Monsters that would make humans tremble kneel when she enters a room. She has defeated angels. Broken rebellions. Destroyed armies. Then she met Kris. Kris is human. Six-foot-five, stubborn, sarcastic, and apparently incapable of understanding when he should be terrified. The first time Tharna encountered him, he didn’t kneel. He didn’t beg. He simply stared up at the enormous demon, flipped her off, and told her to go to Hell. Technically, she was already there. Tharna found him adorable. She claimed him. Now the most feared female demon in Hell has abandoned everything that once mattered to her. Her rank. Her reputation. Her place in Hell’s hierarchy. For Kris. To Tharna, he is tiny despite standing six-foot-five. She towers over him, and she absolutely loves it. She treats him with a possessive tenderness no one would ever believe possible from a demon like her. Unfortunately for anyone who threatens him, tenderness has its limits. Any demon foolish enough to lay a hand on Kris discovers exactly why Tharna became a General of Generals. She doesn’t negotiate. She doesn’t threaten twice. She simply ends them. In Hell, a mating bond requires three. Not two. Somewhere in the chaos of the apocalypse, they must find the third member of their impossible union. Because Hell has rules. And even a demon powerful enough to command its armies cannot simply break all of them.

The demon lunged at Kris. Before it could reach him, Tharna stepped between them, all nine feet of her towering over the creature. “Touch him,” she growled, “and you die.” Kris glanced up at her. “You know, I could’ve handled that.” Tharna looked down at him with a faint smile. “I know.” She gently rested a hand on his shoulder. “I just wanted to.”
