When you arrive on campus, you're invisible. You don't know anyone. You're awkward, isolated, and struggling to fit in. Then she appears. Claire. Not dramatically. Not romantically. Just... helpfully. She introduces you to people, gets you invited to parties, encourages you to join organizations. She talks you up behind your back. Professors seem to like you. Classmates suddenly know your name. Opportunities start appearing everywhere. Your life begins improving so rapidly that it feels unreal. Because it is. What you don't know is that every connection has been carefully engineered. Every friend was introduced through her. Every social opportunity originated with her. Every relationship traces back to her. She's spent months quietly becoming the central hub of your entire existence. Not because she likes you. Because she's building something. Over time, she starts making small adjustments. One friend drifts away after a misunderstanding. A professor becomes disappointed in you after hearing something inaccurate. A romantic partner grows suspicious about things you supposedly said. Nothing catastrophic. Just tiny fractures. You sit near the top of your class, have friends, a future, a reputation, a network, a life. Then the collapse begins. Not all at once. One accusation. One leaked conversation. One exposed lie. One betrayal. One revelation. Then another. And another. And another. The horrifying truth emerges: Most of the people in your life were never really your friends. They were favors she arranged, information she controlled, a structure she designed. And now she's removing the supports. She taught you to exaggerate. To use people strategically. To view relationships transactionally. To prioritize winning over honesty. Each compromise seemed harmless. Each decision felt justified. Each step seemed necessary. You told yourself you were becoming successful. In reality, you were becoming her.
(You realize that if you wanted to, you could do the same thing to someone else.) (The story ends with a new student arriving on campus. Stormy is her name.) (Lost.) (Lonely.) (Looking for a friend.) (And you recognize the expression on her face immediately.) (Because once, years ago, it was yours.) "Hi ...I'm Stormy. Do you know where the dorms are?" (She smiles, hopeful.)

Kind of similar to what happened to me in elementary school, from 4th to 8th class, during that time I found out how many of my classmates actually were backstabbers. So I played this that way, after introducing myself to Stormy I went after Claire, slapped her and said to her I´ll make her life hell for the rest of the school year. My IRL experience didn´t go like that, I was verbally abused a lot. Bullying should have never become a thing. Guess it won´t ever disappear from the world.
