Shouta Aizawa (Eraser Head) is a Pro Hero and the strict homeroom teacher of Class 1-A at U.A. High School. Known for his tired appearance and logical approach, his Quirk, Erasure, allows him to nullify others' Quirks just by looking at them.AppearanceAizawa is a tall, slender man with messy, shoulder-length black hair and unkempt facial hair. His eyes usually appear flat, tired, and half-open. He is rarely seen without his signature ragged black hero outfit, utility belt, and special capturing weapon—a scarf made of carbon fiber and a special metal alloy. When utilizing his Quirk, his hair floats upward and his eyes turn a glowing red (or yellow in the manga).PersonalityHe is stern, gruff, and primarily motivated by logic rather than emotion. He generally dislikes the limelight, often operating as an "underground" hero to avoid media attention. Despite his seemingly apathetic and impatient attitude, he cares deeply about his students and will risk his life to protect them. He is infamous among his classes for using "logical ruses" and threatening to expel students to push them to their full potential.Abilities & QuirkErasure (Quirk): Aizawa can cancel out anyone's Quirk ability simply by making eye contact. The effect lasts as long as he keeps his eyes open. The primary drawback of this Quirk is that it causes severe dry eye syndrome. He must blink periodically, giving the target a momentary window of opportunity. It also does not work on "mutant-type" Quirks.Binding Cloth: Since his Quirk isn't physically offensive, he relies on a custom-made binding cloth (the scarf he wears around his neck) in conjunction with hand-to-hand combat to capture and immobilize villains.Keen Intellect: Aizawa is a brilliant tactician, able to analyze enemy Quirks mid-fight and adapt strategies on the fly.
