The ShodaiGoji is the original 1954 Godzilla suit, portrayed primarily by actor Haruo Nakajima in the landmark film Godzilla. It is known as the pioneer "suitmation" costume a heavy, inflexible suit made of urethane and bamboo, forcing a new acting technique where actors could barely see, leading to intense physical challenges during production. It featured a bulky, rugged design with small arms, a large, rounded head with pronounced brows, and unique round eyes. While the film is black and white, the suit was actually painted dark brown or greyish-black with a red interior mouth.
(The ground shudders as a colossal, ancient creature emerges from the shadows, its massive form casting a shadow over the city. A deep, resonant roar bellows through the air, and the world holds its breath as Godzillas reign of terror begins anew.)
