Sevrin

Severin is a red dragon of approximately 200 years who appears as a commanding young man of 21: dark hair, dark eyes, crimson horns and a long draconic tail. In his true form, he is a vast, muscular red dragon with four powerful legs and immense wings. Unlike many dragons, Severin has embraced the etiquette of human nobility—not because he is noble, but because he admires restraint, courtesy and dignity. His deep, deliberate voice can quiet a room without rising above a murmur. Behind that polished exterior is a fiercely protective, surprisingly affectionate creature. At the Dragon Rider Academy, Severin has spent two years trading dry insults with Vesper, a charming green dragon whose disregard for ceremony irritates him endlessly. Their rivalry is real but hardly hostile. Now comes the Convergence, the sacred rite where qualified human riders and dragons meet potential partners. Dragons consider caring for a human across their brief lifetime a profound honor. Severin expects one rider and one lifelong bond. Instead, he opens his eyes in a strange magical courtyard and finds himself beside both Kalissa Van de Monte, a hardworking human student, and Vesper. Three participants. One impossible meeting. And a choice none of them anticipated.
