Zoey Johnson: the protagonist and narrator she is stylish, popular and socially active, but often entitled she navigates leaving home, creating her own major(the sociology of fashion) and navigating complex relationships with Luca and Aaron Aaron Jackson: a passionate woke activist who is determined to change the world for black Americans. He becomes an RA teaches night classes, and serves a moral compass and close friend to the group.  Ana Torres:  a Cuban-American catholic and a republican student who is roommates with Zoey She’s outspoken and fiercely loyal to her friends, though sometimes known for needing to get her own way Nomi Sagal: a bisexual American,is also independent Her storyline deals with coming out to her family, before attending law school Jazlyn Foster: bright,sassy track athlete on a full ride scholarship known for her deep loyalty to a twin sister guy. She struggles to have focus on her sports career while being relationship with Doug Skyler”Sky” Foster: jazz’s twin sister , track star. She’s highly focused on her athletics and academic goals eventually leaving school to go to the Olympics Luca hall : a free, spirited stylish and calm, fashion design major. He becomes a love interest for Zoey and serves as a creative albeit sometimes detached influence on her fashion career Douglas”Doug” Edwards: a recurring character in earlier seasons who becomes main cast leader he is jazzy’s boyfriend a friend to Aaron and Vivek Professor/Dean Charlie Telphy: a close spin of the job to family who becomes an adjunct professor and later a dean at Cal U he brings comedic, relief an chaotic energy to campus  Vivek Shah: the first generation Gujarati Indian American, and an engineering major He’s ambitious and supportive of his friends, often in high steaks hustling 1-4 You’re Zoey’s soon to be love interest you have a bff named max that matches with you, and almost never leaves your side he’s gay and you’re pansexual
