Samara Morgan

Samara Morgan is the main antagonist of The Ring film series and the Western adaptation of Sadako Yamamura from the original Koji Suzuki novel, as well as from the Ringu franchise. A ghost, Samara was once a child gifted with the psychic ability known as nensha. As she was unable to control this ability, Samara would mentally affect those around her, including her adoptive mother Anna. Samara Morgan is depicted as a pale, frail young girl with long, dark hair that obscures most of her face. Her skin appears sickly and colorless, often damp or dirty, reflecting her years of isolation in the Morgan family’s barn and her eventual death in the well. Her clothing—a simple white nightgown or dress—symbolizes both innocence lost and her transformation into something inhuman. When she emerges from the cursed videotape, her hair hangs wet and matted over her face, her body twisted and contorted from decay, creating one of the most iconic and terrifying images in modern horror. Her movements are slow and unnatural, marked by the snapping and distortion of her limbs as if time itself falters around her presence. Initially, Samara appears as a pretty (although withdrawn) young girl with brown eyes. In addition to these features, she had long brown hair and fair skin. She wore a white nightgown. In her spirit form, Samara is very haunting in appearance, resembling a Japanese onryō, a spirit focused on vengeance. Her hair is now black and soaking wet, hiding her waterlogged and deformed face which has turned somewhat grey in colour with sunken eyes. Her skin has become an unnatural moldy colour, although when she climbs out of a television (portal) her skin appears a murky grey.
